Essentially, they turned a figure of compassion into a figure of hostility who blesses exactly the harshness that he denounced in the Gospel; this has happened more gradually, across decades as opposed to months, but it is nonetheless disturbing via comparable methods, a confusing personal impact for many of us.
A Damaging Christianity Takes Hold
